Welcome to my website.
I've been researching the history of the people and places in Herefordshire for over 15 years, and I'd like to help you with your research.
Although much information is available out there on the Internet, you will come to a point where the sources haven't been made available online yet. In Herefordshire, not all of the pre-1837 baptisms, marriges and deaths are included on the IGI. Most of the over 80,000 wills from before 1858 are not available online. Then there are the other sources like Land Tax, Tithe Apportionment, Deeds, Estate records, Manorial records, family papers, newspapers ...
The Herefordshire Record Office holds an amazing amount of documentary source material, but not all that is available for the county. For instance, the Cathedral Archives holds a vast amount of material for the city of Hereford and it's immediate environs. The City Library holds some material not available at either the Record Office or the Cathderal Archives.
This is when you need someone like me. I have been using all the resources available on the history of Herefordshire for many years, and know them well.
For the fee of £15 per hour (or £8 per half hour), I can research for you, or give advice on the best way forward if you've hit a wall.
My own specialty is the City of Hereford 1660-1811. I've been researching the people of the city for several years, and you may have come across my blogs on various people and families. I am preparing a book for publication, but more news of that in the future.
Please look around my website, and contact me if I can help your research.
